Default Z6 and Y8 trannys....Same Part #'s?

OK, i have a 93 Si with the Z6 in it. The tranny was junk so it was swapped out for a (98 maybe?) Y8 tranny. I've heard the ONLY difference is the metal shift forks, but it's time to do the input shaft bearing on it. My question is are the part #s the same for a Z6 and Y8 tranny.

The part they gave me doesn't look like the one on Honda's drawing but the guy insists it's the right part.

I just don't wanna be stuck with the wrong part when the time comes to fix that! So please hellllllllllllllllllllllp!

Thanks!

P.S. - Do you have to know ANNNNNYTHING to work at a Honda parts dept.??? I'm no mechanic, but these guys have NO clue what parts go with what, and if you try and throw an engine code at em they freak out!!!!!!

Thanks. I've never cracked open a tranny before so this is slightly foreign looking to me but...

Is the ISB #9? If so, does that oil seal surround the bearings outter race? Because the seal i have surrounds the inner race. That's why i'm so confused because that drawing has me believing the seal surrounds the outter race which mine does not.

Thanks for your help, like i said, getting caught with the wrong parts would be a BAD thing when i will be taking it to a friends house to fix.

ISB are different, 88-95 used plastic bearing cares, 96+ used metal cages.......but I believe Honda has updated the parts so all the bearings are the new style.

ISB Bearing 91002-PS0-003
ISB Seal 91216-PL3-005

ISBs are the same, Countershaft needle bearings are different
