i just bought a y8 to swap out my blown y7 (turbo sheesh) theres a sensor on the y8 that i dont know what is. its not on the y7 i dont believe and its not where the vtec solenoid and pressure sensor is. its right under the intake manifold and above the oil filter. any insight what this is and where it goes?

Y7 does not have a knock sensor.

you need t run the ex engine harness or make your own wire for it and connect it to the right ecu pinout

I would use the y8 harness if you can find one. If you don't get it hooked up right your car will not run vtec and you will get the cel light. Another thing is the IAC valve is different if you are swapping a manual y7 to manual y8. The iac valve is three wire on y7 and two on y8. You can use the y7 harness but have to use it's throttle body and plug the old y8 iac valve hole. If you get the y8 harness and ecu, which i recommend, everything is plug & play.

wow. you guys seemed to answer EVERYTHING.... that i never needed to know. yes i knew i was going to run new wires to hook the vtec/knocksensor up. and i knew they went to the ecu. now what i needed to know as stated in my question was where does the knock sensor hook into the ecu?which pin.? i DONT need to kn ow about vtec or iac. i know all i need to know and ive got that all taken care of. all i needed to know and asked for was where the knock sensor went. sorry if seems rude but i just got thrown the hell off when ive waited like a week for someone to reply and when there is a reply its answering a bunch of questions i never asked about.

Hooking everything up isn't as easy as everyone says. Good luck getting it all to work because I had tons of problems.
