Default Mini-Me Y8 / Y7 knock sensor code

Hi HT I have a 97 civic mini-me Y8 / Y7. Bought the car a few months ago been doing work on it almost non-stop. I'm having a issue with it I'll try to explain as best as I can.

The car seems to be lacking power. Doesn't feel like much at all but I still think it should be pushing just a little more. Whenever I rev up the car or drive it and get to a stop sign or red light or when I drop it into neutral the idle drops all the way down and the car feels like its about to die. Sometimes it even does die! CEL is working, check engine light is on, had the codes read and it came up knock sensor.

From what I've heard, I been getting different answers to weather or not the D16Y7 had a knock sensor or not. I have Y8 tranny, Y7 block, Y8 head, and im pretty sure its Y8 harness. I found a sensor plugged into the back of the block under the intake mani. and a single red / blue wire with no clip at the end of it. So I went to the junkyard and cut off one with a clip, spliced it on to the wire hanging in the back of my block and plugged it right in! Car seems to be running a tad-bit better but still have problems when I come to a stop car almost dies. Had the codes read again, comes up knock sensor.

So what I'm asking is, is the plug I plugged and spliced the knock sensor or something else? Is my knock sensor bad? Do I even have a knock sensor? Or am I just F***ed?

With everything being said these are the parts I've replaced on the car so far. . .

plugs, wires, cap, rotor, distributer, pcv valve, iacv, oil + filter, air filter, fuel injectors, thermostat + gasket, temp. sensor, speedometer sensor, heater control valve, full exhaust, brakes, tires + rims, HG, head bolts, intake / exhaust mani gasket, TB gasket, valve cover gasket. . .

I really don't want to give up on this car it's such a nice ride, looks really nice, clean, did so much work on it! Finally reg and insured it and got clean title please help!

alright so i took off the intake mani. and it is my knock sensor that i plugged in. but code is still comming up. .

so im guessing either the sensor is no good or theres an electrical problem?
also i found out that im running p2p ecu pretty sure thats the one that is suposed to be there right? checked it to see if wires were spliced or undone or something. theres 1 clip thats not plugged into the ecu its just dangling there duno what it is. . .

Yes that is the knock sensor, yes the P2P is the correct ECU. Those knock sensors often get broken when removing them, or sometimes just for no reason at all. I've seen them break in two pieces without ever being touched. Check for continuity between the plug and pin D6 at the ECU.
