Default WTH!!! is a P28 Ecu

Hey guys I'm kinda an old school honda guy (92 was the last year I touched a Honda) that recently return to the Honda scene...
I'm trying to get my little EG back to par and running order. I have a check engine light but I'm trying to figure out what a P28 is ... Sorry for such a noobie question

92-95 Civic Si/EX ECU

SOHC VTEC engine code D16Z6 is the engine the ECU came with.

The most highly sought after ECU in the honda world because it will work on any H/B/F/D series motor except for the S2000's F20C/F22C and it doesn't have a knock sensor monitor.

Your B20 doesn't have a knock sensor.

All DOHC VTEC ECUs have knock sensor monitors, but none of the SOHC VTEC motors have them, so that means no knock sensor monitor on SOHC VTEC ECUs.

I was told that I could run a P72 off a B16 Civic which would be better to run on my B20 Vtec; the P28 or P72 ????

only diffrance is the map they come with from the factory but your replacing that any ways if you chip it to run that motor.

and the p72 supports a stock knock sensor but that thing sucks so go with the p28 its the bomb diggity

It might have a knock sensor depending on which b20 it is, mine does and I am not using it.

Check the Cell code forum in 92-2000 civic/del sol it is a sticky, and it will show you how to read exactly what code your ecu is throwing.
