somthin wrong with my chipped p28
i dunno whats up with my ecu... i got it chipped by PYR and it was running fine but lately when im accelerating normal around 45-60, the car would suddenly slow down like i let of the gas, but i still have the gas down... and then, the car jerks and resumes normally.
it does this from time to time.. my check engine light is stays on but i was told by ppl that some chipped ecu's will still have the check engine light on...but whenever my car jerks like this the check engine light would turn off, and then turn back on 2 seconds later. im riding my stock ecu and it doesnt do this... how can i tell if the ecu is messed up or the chip thats messed up. im thinkin i should just get a new ecu or something. thanks.

What code is your PYR ECU throwing?
Do you have a fuel/VTEC controller?
A check engine light on a chipped ECU is NOT normal and should not happen.
Give us some more info so we can help you out.

Re: somthin wrong with my chipped p28 (kenji)
ok, so i tried jumping the code with the 2 pin connector....but no code...the check engine light stays lit (i tried jumping it like 10times but it just stays lit)
no, no fuel/vtec controller although i used to and the harness is chopped up but my car doesnt do this with the stock ecu, so im assuming its the p28
my car is a 2000 dx cpe, b18c1, obd-II>obd-I. hey kenji, i emailed u asking if its possible to "re-chip" chipped ecus. if so, let me know, im not really happy with it. also, when i run a p28 in my car, is it supposed to elimate the o2 sensors or just the secondary o2 sensor? thanks.

lilxvtecxpwr,
I can rechip your ECU with one of my programs if you would like. I was going to offer that in the previous post but I did not want to step on anybody's toes.
If the light just stays on when you jump the service connector chances are either the chipping was done incorrectly or the ECU itself is bad.
No OBD1 ECUs look for a secondary O2 sensor. Some OBD1 ECU programs do not use an O2 sensor and run off set maps with no feedback from the O2.
Who made your OBD2 to OBD1 ECU conversion harness?
Email me for more info.

Re: somthin wrong with my chipped p28 (kenji)
i bought my obdII>obdI harness from my friend who was running a mugen spec ecu in his si. i doubt the harness is messed up because it worked perfectly in his car.
kenji, i'm probably gonna get it rechipped (u got mail) but how will i know if the ecu is messed up or the chip itself? i kinda want to know before rechipping it, cuz it'll suck if it turns out to be the ecu in the first place. thanks.
