wiring question...
I have a 95 gsr motor in a 98 ex. I have questions concerning the crank sensor behind the crank pulley. I am using my 98 harness with a 95 motor and transmission, ecu, and distributor. What do i do with the ckyp sensor wiring now that i no longer have the sensor behind the crank pulley?
Thanks in advance

If you are planning on running OBD-II you need to install an new oilpump and lower timing gear and cover so you can install the sensor and use it. If you are going with OBD-I then all you need to so is neatly button it up somewhere or clip it off and tape it up good so it wont get wet or grounded out by anything.
ive got everything but spark, so clearly its related to this issue. I started with a hacked up harness to begin with so that was foolish. It was for a b20 auto trans car as well so it had alot of un
Is anyone aware of the pin locations for the CEL (check engine light circuit) i believe i have a wire snipped for that which is hindering my ability to read the codes. Its not a faulty ecu, i am positive of that because ive tried 3 differant well know ecu's. I have the wiring all finished with just no mods done to the existing 98 ckyp sensor plug, its just hanging there.

The speed sensor on the front of the crank wont hinder it from starting. It is only a crank speed sensor for OBD-II misfire functions.
If you donthave any spark what you need to do is pull the cap off and do a few checks.
Check the black yellow wire on igniter for battery voltage (center pin on side with three pins)
If you have voltage there then you need to check and see if there is dwell at the next pin over (moving towards the side with the single pin coming out)
If you have dwell during cranking at that spot you have a bad coil.
if no dwell switch to other side of the black yellow wire and check for dwell there during cranking. If you have dwell in that spot, you have a bad igniter, if not proceed with code 14 diagnosis in the service manual.

Yea. the stuff is fine. The harness is ****, cause the motor worked fine in my 93 hatchback with the stock gsr harness.
