who discovered the LS/VTEC swap?
Too bad Divine Intervention isn't on here anymore, he would do the best damn "The History of the CRVTEC".
Man I wish I could pull up the old posts he's partaken in...heres an example.... https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=144797
1 And so, twas with great rejoicing, that Mark, son of Baguel, houseboy to the estate of Remor'so, celebrated his score and twicefold anniversary.
2 Let all who hear the son of Baguel speak, listen upon him.
BTW...that one sucks compared to some he's done!

Probably somebody who tried to buy a GsR engine and all the junkyard had were these LS engines that nobody wanted. He probably bought it dirt cheap and played around with it wanting to have VTEC with this motor.
Or
It started with those scam artists who buys junk cars from auctions and stuff. Trying to pass the LS for a GsR to unsuspecting buyers.

Uh.... Honda, they did deesign these bad boys ! HA !
Anyways... I don't know who invented it,, I could prolly find out, but that would be a mission I care not to take at work...
I do know that the LS/Vtec conversion has been around since the early 90's,, there were quite a few running, particularly in Cali, but they ran into problems for a few years in the beginning, the snapping or stretching rod bolts became the primary issue, which is one major reason why the LS/vtec conversion has been looked upon as the red-headed stepchild of the B series.

As a matter of fact you each owe me a nickel just for mentioning Ls/Vtec in a public forum.
My patent is still pending for CrVtec.

Are you also the reason Si's only have Vtec in 3rd ?
It's kinda like asking who invented the wheel, or gunpowder, or the automobile. The technology came from a huge undertaking in a world-wide hobby-- pinpointing the exact person who did it could prove to be difficult, but I would say Japan, land of the rising sun. They've been doing Honda's and have had DOHC VTEC heads much longer than we have. That's my guess. Then, like all import culture, Japanese brought it to California.
I thought It was Tony Fuchs, back like in 97 I remember staring at Tony's motor for the longest time at JG, wondering what the hell I was looking at. I asked but they said it's a "secret"
