1.6sohc vtec or ls swap in my eg
Does any1 have an ls swap or 1.6sohc vtec swap in their eg's. Does any1 know which would be a better swap, and which would be faster. Ls high tourque, 1.6 high end hp, plus vtec, plus its a little lighter. Can some1 plz help with this question, also 1.6 sohc vtec is way cheaper to buy complete swap, and where can I get one for cheap with install, too busy to put in my self with skool and other stuff. Thanks

well me personally i wouyld go with the ls..ls has good torque not too expensive and i think best bang for the buck non vtec motor.very reliable..and if you dont have time to swap your motor and dont have time for your car period then why build it..leave it stock what you want is a daily driver to get you froma to b..why swap it if your gunna not have time to have fun with your new sapped car? just my 0.02

Re: 1.6sohc vtec or ls swap in my eg (ek4h)
Yeah well I will have time to build it up this summer especially, I just dont really want to deal with the swap, never really did one, just helped my freind do his. But I am gonna build it up, im not gonna turbo it but ls is good swap low compression to turbo. But then I seen 1.6 vtecs that pulled on some ls's, so im skeptical about wat to buy. 1.6vtec would be really cheap and its pretty fast swap for that car, alongside with headers intake and exhaust and w/e else follows after that lol. Thank for the opinion though.

they're both good motors, although the LS handles boost well, the sohc's vtec can be fun to some. Just put in whichever one is easier/cheaper. The LS will probably be a little quicker but it's not going to feel worlds faster than the sohc like a gsr would.

Yeah I mean the cx I have right now is slow lol, I even have ac which kills some of the hp. Timing is also off a bit so u can just imagine. Thats y I was wondering which would be faster if I was to go all motor. I just like that fact that the 1.6 has vtec, but ls dohc has good tourque in that car.

it's basically up to u but if it was meh i'll always stick with vtec...d16z6 not bad cause it's cheap and if u boost it..it'll be a fun car to drive..very cheap motor so if u blow it up u can buy another for cheaper than ls.

lol you dont have time to do a swap it takes people 3 to 4 hours to do it. and a rookie 6. but it shouldnt take that long at all and its not a big diff from putting in an ls from a d16z6 just my opinion shoot for what you want though

ur all good either way both reliable Ls or sohc ....ls def being more money u can prob build ur sohc for the amount u will pay for a full LS swap..... BUT like some one was saying lsvtec ..def a pretty god swap good numbers but.... its not reliable at alllllll IF you dont know what ur doing ... and it def will be alot more expensice ... i have def seen turbo built singles put really good numbers ... turbod16.com check it out

cx are light as expletive
i had a d16z6 it was ok it pulled all i had was i/h/e but i think if u want to go bigger get the ls there is more potential in that motor
my friend had DA stock ls motor with i/h/e it pulled a little harder they respond better with bolt ons too...you could also pick up a b16 head lsvtec that bitch and seriously have some fun
