Im building a z6block/a6head for my NA setup .. the block has baout 180k on it..but i have a y8 block with about 25k on it..can i just use the y8 oil and water pumps or should i just buy new ones/rebuild.

Also, what timing belt would be used with that head/block combo..im going to use the a6 timing belt since thats what head im using..and ill have an adjustable gear..i just want to make sure my assumptions are correct.

at this point, it would be wise to go ahead and replace the water and oil pumps.

 

i will rebuild the oil pump..but arent water pumps like 150 bucks?

But isn't it worth that much to ensure that your engine won't have cooling problems?

Where are you getting this pump from?
My B17 water punp was something like $50-70.00. From the DEALER.
