I'm piecing together an ls-t and figure i'll replace my stockand old water and oil pump.

next question, if that's true, can i still use a stock ls timing belt?

I'm pretty sure you have to match the timing belt to the water pump being used. The LS and GSR/ITR water pumps have a different amount of teeth (19 vs. 22).

GSR/R timing belts have 1 more tooth than an LS. You match the belt to the water pump.

theres alot of dif. stuff being said, so can we get this straight<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by DonF &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">GSR/R timing belts have 1 more tooth than an LS. ls and gsr/itr belts are the same</TD></TR></TABLE>do all the water pumps have the same number of teeth or different? and if they're dif. this holds for the belts too i guess, so what's right?

and <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by frostyrb &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">B16a is also the same for the oil & water pump, incase it is easier to go to honda then acura.</TD></TR></TABLE><TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by DonF &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">GSR/R timing belts have 1 more tooth than an LS. so does the b16 have the same # of teeth as the gsr/r or as the ls?

THanks for all the replies, now lets try to set this stuff straigh so misinformation/interuptation is getting passed around

I know for sure that Meziere who makes a B-series electric water pump kit offers a model with 19 teeth for LS motors and one with 22 teeth for DOHC VTEC motors. Like I said before, you have to match the water pump to the timing belt being used. Also, B16 water pumps and oil pumps are the same as other DOHC VTEC B-series water and oil pumps.

Hell ya thanks alot for your help

Just a recap...
All B series vtec water pumps and oil pumps are the same and have the same # number of teeth (22) and you choose the timing belt based on the water pump. the exception being if you have a b16 water pump, then you use a gsr/r timing belt, due to the b16 having a shorter block.
