Whats a pr3-3?
Im pretty much confused on what kind of cylinder headi got. Its a b18c1 block with a pr3-3 cylinder head. its a 99 i checked the markings to make sure, i was just wondering because if were a type r would i be able to push it pass 8000 rpms? i have an obd2 ecu in the car and vtec cracks at 5000 rpm and i shift at 8000 to be on the safe side. but to my understanding a type r vtec comes in around 6500 stock and revs to 8900 rpms? i dunno if i right. i just want to know what mods i have. i bought the car like that.. if someone could please help me out i would greatly appreciate it.
The -# in the casting mark will not definitively tell you if it is an ITR head. You need to look at the valve springs (double on both intake and exhaust) and valves (intake valves are necked). PR3 is simply the casting that is shred between the B16A, B16B (CTR), and B18C (ITR).
