Default b16a block and Type R head

I am thinking of putting a type R head on my b16a block and was wondering what the performance aspects of it would be. thanks

probably a little better valve train. correct me if i'm wrong but the b16a head and the b18c5 head are basically the same except the itr head is massaged a little by hand and has a little stronger valve springs (to rev a little higher) just what i heard

with an upside down intake manifold. haha.

I think you would get more gains with the same amount of money if you had your B16a head ported and polished with type R cams and valvesprings. Check out http://www.portflow.com and http://www.prospeed-performance.com and check up on prices. A type R head usually runs about $1000 and up, unless you get a real good deal on an ITR head, I would choose headwork instead. People I have spoken to who get headwork are always really happy with it. Good luck.

I agree with just taking the B16 head and having it port and polished, portflow can make a b16 head build way more power than a stock type r head. The only major difference is the intake valves, the springs and the retainers. At the least take the B16 head and smack in a CTR intake cam and a ITR exhaust cam, and if your feeling a little frisky swap the spings and retainers for portflow inners and titanium retainers
