For all Honda's/Acura's: nonOBD = '91 and older, OBD1 = 92-95, OBD2 = 96+... There have been reversions of the ECU's too... For 96-98 Civic you'll need an OBD2a ECU since they run plugs A,C,D... Same goes for 96-99 Tegs... For your Civic since it's a '99 you'll need an OBD2b ECU... For Civic's that went from 99-2000, and 00-2001 for Tegs... That has nothing to do with the motors tho... You'll be fine with any 96-2001 Teg motor... As far as the ECU goes either get a 99-2001 Teg, or make/buy a conversion harness... I don't know what Teg motor you are looking into but if it's a GSR or ITR I wouldn't run a GSR ECU (P72)... I hate that ECU... Either go with an 2000 ITR or run a chipped OBD1 ECU such as the P28... If you are just looking for an LS motor then get an OBD2b P75... Hope this helps.. Good Luck
