I just got home from the races. While their I was talking to a guy with an EG. I wanted to race him, so I asked what he had under the hood. He told me a mini-me conversion. He explained breifly it's a DX bottom w/ a Si/EX head and said it gives about 137 hp compared to the 125 hp the stock Si/EX put out. If it more than this, please give me some input. I've got a DX sitting in the garage right now. I plan on staying SOHC, so if this is a great opition, I 'd like to do it. Will it raise or lower compression? Because I still want to run a turbo and I want to keep my compression lower for that. Thanks.

what the guy told you it pretty much right, 137 seems a little high... and it does raise compression slightly, dont know how much tho....

 

Will raise compression to at least 10.3 to 1 thats using a Z6 head the Y8 will raise it higher. Its a great opion for SOHC all motor, not too good for Turbo unless get lower compression pistons. V-tec makes good usage of Turbos

Just what the CRVTEC is only with the D series engines......

I.e taking the D16Y7 non vtec engine and putting a D16y8 head on it.....
or the D15's with a Y8 head.
