Default what does the rotating assembly include?

basically, when people say balance the rotating assembly, what are they referring to? Crank, flywheel, clutch disk... what else?

pistons/rods are not part of the rotating assembly right?

Default Re: what does the rotating assembly include? (SilverCIVIC96)

Technically speaking, it would not include the pistons/ring/wrist pins and the beams of the rods. Those are considered reciprocating components.

The big-end of the rods, crank, crank pulley, flywheel, and clutch/pressure plate are considered the rotating assy.

But, a lot of times, they all get lumped together for ease of speak.

You also have to consider that some things don't get balanced along with the crank, piston, and rods....like the flywheel, clutch/PP, and occassionally the crank pulley.
