What do I need to start and run a D16A6
Hi
This is my first post and it's a complicated one
I'm building a stock-car race car, a 1999 Integra which will be equipped of a D16A6. By the rulebook, I have to use the all the components of the engine ( year and model ). My ECU is a PM6, both of the manifolds are OBD0, also the distributor and fuse boxes...
I'm using this engine because we are limited to 120hp and less so the 108hp of the D16A6 is allowing me to have the better performance of all the serie D engines...
The Integra is completely naked, no wiring at all, no nothing... I don't need any cluster ( if needed I'll install one, if only a CEL will appear because of the missing cluster ), I'll be using a push button to start the engine, a switch to get the car ''ON'', a water temp gauge and a oil pressure gauge...
What wiring do I need to start and run my engine?!? Do I need a main relay, the underdash fuse box?!? The engine bay fuse box?!?
Thank for helping me, I'm completely in the dark!

you need something to power the ECU. you need something to power the fuel pump. (these can be switches if you prefer)
then you need to wire up the needed sensors for the ECU... IAT, ECT, plus the distributor sensors. You dont NEED a cluster, but you need to run a speed sensor. this is normally located in the gauge cluster on OBD0 cars. so, rig one up how ever you want to.
IACV is optional if you want to bypass it. i would just run one personally tho. might be a good idea to wire up the fan switch on the back of the A6 as well. or run a manual switch if you prefer.
oh and dont forget about hooking up the o2 sensor or the injector resistor box if you plan to stick with low impedance injectors.
the rest is as bare bones as you can dream (unless i forgot something... this is just off the top of my head)

thank you very much!
Now I'm starting to have a good idea how to make it!
what if I hook up the ignition switch with : fan, fuel pump, ECU?!?
then I juste have to plug all the sensors with the ECU,the O2 sensor and the resistor box...
looks kind of easy when someone is giving you some directions!
thank you again!!!

if ur using the underhood fuse box then it has the relays in it already to run the fuel pump and ecu, rad fan
just run te swicth to those relays to power them up when u flip the swicth

if i was doing it i would write down on a paper all the necessities then make a ladder diagram so you can know what to wire and where they have to go and what goes where it will make trhings alot easier and faster also then u will have a schematic on how things are wired up
