weird problem with tranny, HELP!!!
Well first off I drive a 90 CRX Si swapped with a B16A and J1 tranny.
What's been going on is that my second gear has been acting up like it will tend to pop out randomly or not like to go into gear at times. I'll be taking a right hand turn and it will be stuck in 2nd and as I go into the turn, give it gas, it pops out. If I take a left hand turn it stays in. If I go in a straight line most of the time it goes in but will sometime pop out unles I'm on it, Especially at high revs it's hard to go in and will grind but not always.
Now I'm wondering what it could be, I've done a little bit of research and some say it could be a bad main shaft bearing or the synchro is going. Others says that one of the mounts are loose or the half shaft itself.
Any advise welcome

Still in the car I assume. Here is a checklist:
check the shift linkages to make sure they aren't bent, rubbing, hitting something, or just really wore out bushings.
Check your motor mounts, make sure they are not all torn up and sloppy.
Lastlly pull the tranny out and rebuild it. It may need forks if they are bent. Replace the syncros and slider rings! Check for any broken, worn, or bent parts in the tranny. Also check the bearings while you are in there.

shift linkage is good and isn't rubbing or hitting anything. Mounts are solid AZracemachine billet and seem tight so no play there. Rear mount was a little loose but I tightened that up and it was still doing the same thing.
Looks like I'll be rebuilding my tranny soon

it never fails ive been through 3 trans on my B now i have a YS1 ls cable witch is great gears are long perfect for turbo. yea its the syncros i had my first one rebuilt with CTR gears it was bad but did the same thing. ive learned too take it too honda let them doo it and when it goes bad its there fault they back there work soo free trans thats how i got my 2nd trans it was a hydro but i had all the parts for the conv. so i would suggest gettin the ys1 much more durable and easy too find. good luck
