Default Water/Alcohol injection

what are the facts about acohol injection?
i was told that i prevents detonation the reason that i am asking is that i am running some high compression pistons in my lsvtec and am using 100 octane right now but is is expensive ($4.00 a gallon) so i body told me about alcohol injection thing is his car is turbo and mine isn't can i still run alcohol injedtion his one kicks in under boost how will i be able to turn mine on?
any and all fact about alcohol injection will be helpfull thanks for you time and assistance

There are kits available for NA cars. OR you could make a ghetto kit. I wouldn't exactly call it ghetto, because if you do it right, you can have a good kit for a fraction of the cost.

In any case, the major advantage that water-injection offers is to prevent detonation...a turbo owner's worst nightmare. So, in essence, with water injection, you can run with lower octane gas, advance ignition timing, OR increase compression...I personally wouldn't recommend doing all at the same time. Also, another advantage that I keep reading about is that steam (the byproduct of water injection) acts as a cleaner removing carbon deposits and such.

If done right, water-injection can be very beneficial - especially those with turbo setups. I'm not sure if this system is compatible with N20 applications. And yes, an NA engine will require a different setup than a turbo engine.
