how effective is water injection kit?
im running JRSC on my b18C
im running 9psi on stock b18c motor. i had my car street tuned but its prone to detonation since my CR is high and the sc runs hot.
if i use water injection, will it help enough so i can put more timing in, or dropping my CR would be a better route?
thanks!

Ive heard JR Water Injection kits are great for their superchargers. Especially with a high compression vtec motor revving on the far side of 8k. If you do end up getting a kit installed, try using ice water as much as you can.
Maybe a vortech aftercooler or something if water injection isnt your thing.

The vortech civic used this to run the 200Mile and Hour runs and made like 450 hp +. So yeah I would say if done right and tuned it is great.

50/50 water/methanol raises your octane rating. Set it up so it only comes in at a specific boost level. (6lbs., 8lbs., etc.) Work closely with someone who knows what they are doing with H2O/Methanol injection.

Skip the water and run pure meth, it makes more power.
I burn about 1.5 gallons of meth a month in my DSM driving with a fairly heavy foot.

Re: (iNERtIA)
I use about to hook up a meth kit in my RX-7. It's perfectly safe for any motor. And tunning is not necessary if your just using it as a safety precaution at regular boost levels.

i have had metahnol on my car for awhile, but have yet to empty a 5 gallon drum in over 2 months of using it. and i have the 2nd biggest nozzle(rated to 350whp) from snow performance.

Skip water all together, and only run methanol in the tank.

I buy it from Sunoco in 54 gallon drums and just store it at my farm, because that's nasty **** that you probably don't want hanging around your house.

</TD></TR></TABLE>well as long as you continue to buy the same methanol everytime. you should not switch companies due to diffrences in meth strength.

i still have my 5 gallon drum from like 2 months ago.

also keep it sealed tight, methanol is like brake fluid and likes to collect water from the air

Pure water is absolute peanuts compared to meth. On my DSM when I had the 50-trim on it I could run about 23-24 psi on pump gas, 26-27 on pump + water injection, and literally no limit spraying methanol. There is a limit to how much water you can spray into the motor and still have it make power. You spray more methanol, and it makes more power, it's fuel. I regularly pegged a 30 psi boost gauge on the little 50-trim, but I have backed down the boost on the new bigger turbo because it will make too much power for the street.
Like I said, I usually top off the container in my DSM once a month and it burns about 1.5 gallons, for a car that I beat on hard. A 5 gallon pail isn't too big of a problem to store even in a single car garage, and that will last you a very long time. The performance gains of methanol over water, or even pure meth over a cut of meth and water are tremendous.
