Default vtec problem

ok i just bought a 97 acura cl...it had a cel when i got it...i checked the codes and it was throwing a code 65 secondary oxygen sensor heater wire...so i replaced the oxygen sensor and cleared the code...now i have no cel and still no vtec...my spedo keeps jumpin sometimes it will work and sometimes it wont...i figrued the vss needed to be replaced...could that be my problem? i know that if the spedo isnt workin then vtec will not engauge...but when the spedo is work vtec still doesnt kick...anybody have any input? thanks

Try a new VSS and check your oil level and solenoid screen.

yeah a new vss is comin...and the oil level is perfect...but i forgot about checkin the screen...will check that
