VTEC ECUs.......any can be used for any correct?
Okay, I will just let you know what I am thinking now.
HX has roller rockers. EX has a better fuel map
Custom HX cam from Crower. EX ecu to get rid of the lean burn?
So in effect it would be a roller rockered VTEC engine......

How would you intend on locking those "other" 4 valves at 3500rpm or whatever if you remove the HX ECU?

VTEC is just a solienoid that turns on.....the only issue would be VTEC would the cross over would be 5500 instead of 3000.
I think. That was the dumb point in my poorly worded question. Isn't VTEC just a signal to a solenoid to turn on? If so, I could swap the ECU and get a better cam and whala......no more lean burn.
Would need the cam because the HX cam sucks right at 2900........can feel the difference (when trying) of the lobes.

I wasn't aware the Y5 used the same style soleniod as the traditional VTEC's use.. that being said, yea I suppose you can alter it with an AFC no problem, you also get to start off with lower CR lucky bastard
BTW I've got my old EX ECU laying around
