Interchangeable ECU!!!!!!
ok the hx civic has the VTEC-E which is diffirent from the ex that has the regular VTEC, can you put the ex computer in the hx without no problems, the reason i say this is because the hx is more of a fuel economy car which the E stands for in VTEC-E also i dont want CELs.

Read that, and understand it.
The VTEC mechanism is not in the ECU, it's a simple mechanical on-off switch. All the ECU does is tell it when to engage given a certain number of variables (oil pressure, operating temperature, knock sensor, speed, etc).
Changing your ECU will not change the type of VTEC you have. VTEC-E is sort of the opposite of normal "performance" VTEC. During normal operation, you have one cam lobe spinning free, causing your motor to run in a 12-valve air swirl mode (for better fuel economy). Once your VTEC is active, that lobe is locked into place and the motor operates on a non-performance 16-valve profile (much like a SOHC Non-VTEC motor).
Hope that helps.

It's not going to change anything for the better. Keep your stock ECU. If you don't want an economy engine, then either turbocharge your car or swap your motor.
