Default VTEC dont engage when there is a CEL???

i got CEL for the intake air temp sensor now that i changed the im for a skunk2. b18c1 is what i got.

No, vtec will not engine with a check engine light. Did you put the sensor on right? Or is it faulty?

After checking to make sure you have the sensor in correctly, reset the ECU. Just disconnect the battery and wait maybe 5-10 minutes and then reconnect it and see if it goes away. I got a damn check engine light when I put new spark plug wires in it because it's so pickey. A reset of the ECU took care of it all
