Default check engine light?!!

happy holidays to all! anyways, here's the problem...i have an EG hatch VX with an OBD2b B16a engine from an '00 civic si. my ECU is a P30 and recently i've been getting a CEL of 1 and 10, i checked to see what these codes where and i found out it was a heated 02 sensor and IAT sensor respectively...the thing is when i turn the engine off and start it again the CEL disappears, what seems to be the problem?

Your IAT sensor is probably bad and your ecu might not be reading the heated o2 sensor try and check to see if the wires lead to the correct pin spots in the ecu

ok i'll check it..by the way the car drives fine and if i turn off the engine and start it back up again the CEL disappears...this has happened maybe once or twice for the past two days..will this damage the engine if left unresolved?

Sure! Just cover the CEL with a picture of your girlfriend or something! LOL, it helps you ignore it!

When you turn the car off and leave it off for a while the ecu will reset itself so it won't turn the check engine light on until it senses the problem again that's why you don't see the check engine light on right after u start the car. It probably wont ruin your engine it will just make it run rich, which means burning more gas than u usually do
