Default On the verge: b18c5 or b16a

i have a beat up b16a. due to some circumstances, i have come into possecion of about $8,000. my immediate idea was to drop a type r block while keeping my b16a head on. my question is that would it be better for me to go ahead and get the type r block with a gsr tranny or use the money to fix and hot rod my b16a?

if it was MY money
i would buy a b20. fully built it. slap the b16 head on there, then boost it.
and run 12's on street tires.
thats if it was my money.
you can do that for 8k.

go CRVTEC! It'll take a heck of a lot of work, but if you want to blow 8k, go for it!

it depends... if you use your car to drag race then yeah build a B20vtec... but if you are into road racing or you just want to stay full vtec, get a B18C1 shorthblock and build it. then get your B16A head built with a mild port and polish... or sell your car completely and buy a whole other project...

but a properly built B20 bottom end will stomp around a roadcourse much better and last as long if built PROPERLY.... and with $8000, that is a piece of cake.... time to email IMPORTBUILDERS.com !

CRVTEC no doubt in my mind no matter what you intend to do. Roadrace, drag, it doesn't matter...

And yes, have importbuilders build it up for you, and you'll have a monster.

$8000! I hope you dont plan on wasting a majority of that on your engine!

B20vtec!? wack... now that's a waste of money right there.
If you want something reliable don't go the B20/vtec route. B18C5 = more power, although a B16A is a fun engine to mess around with. Hard call. Although people will say 'go B18C5!'.... I think I know what you're feelin....it's up to you.

Sheeit....$8000! just fix your b16a and have a nice fat wallet

C5... plug-n-play and it'll play with the best out there without much fuss. Besides, chance to own C5 is dwindling by the minute. B16s can be had all day long... C5s are harder to come by.
