B16 Lost Motion Assemblys
I have a LS/VTEC setup that I am in the process of putting together. I have a B18a block with a 1st Gen B16A head and 2001 GSR camshafts. Do I need these B16 Lost Motion Assemblys? I want to make sure things are done RIGHT once. Are these a nessesity for camshft changes like this? Who carries them and is there a website someone can direct me to to read up on it?

Re: B16 Lost Motion Assemblys (MIKES)
maybe I dont understand the question, but,
if you have a b16 head, you already have the lost motion assemblies...
(unless its a bare head)
maybe you can elaborate...

You have a B16A cyl head so you should have B16A lma's already. If your concerned about the age of the lma's and want to replace them with new parts, I can understand that one, I'd just buy the ITR lma's intead of buying new B16A/GSR lma's. The cost is similar and if you ever wanted to switch to higher lift camshafts the you already have the ITR lma's. Just my thought....plan for the future.
A discount Honda/Acura parts supplier can get them for you (about $30 each) but I'm sure a fellow H-T sponsored supplier here can also get you these parts for a good price.

A search will get you alot of info, but simply put the LMA's are the spring units that keep the Vtec rocker arm in contact with the cam lob when Vtec is not engauged.
