Valve Adjustment Problem
I just finished adjusting my valves on my 2000 Civic SI and now when I start the engine, I can hear a "tapping" or "ticking" noise. I'm guessing that noise is coming from my valves??? Also I would like to mention:
1. that one of the outer screw caps broke off the head cover, which may be import.
2. I did use the appropriate feeler gauges (.006 for intake and .008 for exhaust)
3. I also used the appropriate valve adjusting tool.
4. I didn't replace the high temp sealant for the rubber lining.

the tapping coming from your engin is because one of your valves is stuck in the open position and the tapping is when the cam goes around and taps the end of it, you just need to open it up again and make shure your valves are lubbed correctly, you may beable to see witch one is stuck and just fix that one.
Ummm......no.....the valves dont get stuck open......WTF are you smokin? The cam doesnt even hit the valve directly...It moves the rocker arm which intern moves the valve.....He set the exhaust to .008, it should be .007.....could be the noise??...but more than likely the noise is because the adjustment was done improperly for one reason or another.
