Default VAFC...Not a Stupid and Typical Question

Here's some info...

Lvt Settings
RPM------>Correction
1000------->0
2000------->0
3500------>-8

Lo/Hi Throttle is at 10%/50%

Since my first fuel correction is at 3500K, I shouldn't be seeing any corrections being applied before 3500K regardless of throttle postion, correct? My VAFC isn't acting in a way I'm expecting it to. For example, I'm at 2500K rpms...once my throttle goes over 10%, the Air Correction Monitor is indicating that the VAFC is applying fuel correction.

That's normal. I don't have an answer as to why, but it happens to everyone.
Even when u apply a change say narrow band at 1k to -2%, when u accelerate that %tage will change. I believe it has something to do with the VAFC maintaining a ratio different from the ECU's preset.

Take a look when u hit past 3.5k. It won't show -8% the whole time. Everytime u gas, clutch, etc the % changes

Look to see what your Wide throttle settings are. The way the VAFC works is that the Lo/Hi throttle adjusts the amount of fuel according to how much throttle is being given. I bet your Wide throttle settings are not the same as your Lvt settings. The VAFC will correct the fuel betweel the rates given at Narrow throttle to Wide Throttle after the 10% throttle given. Anything under 10% throttle will yield a 0% correction on fuel. After 10% it will calculate the difference between Wide and Narrow and adjust accordingly. Hope this helps.

Well, I decided to play around with the VAFC and I figured it out. Again, with my settings below...

1000--->0
2000--->0
3500-->-8

The VAFC fuel correction is actually a gradual process. The fuel correction actually works its way up from 0 to -8 between 2000-3500rpms. I was thinking all along that the fuel correction would be 0 from idle to 3499rpms and then kick in at -8 when it hits 3500. I found out that this wasn't the case.
