Default Tunning question

I just finish building an engine and putting it in my car. I built an ls/vtec. I'm running at about 11.3:1 compression ratio on 91 or 93 octance. I need to have it tuned but the place that can tune it with hondata is about 2 hours away from where my car is. Is there any way to get the engine just running rough so that I can drive it or does it have to be tuned before I start it and drive it? I don't want to start it and then have anything go wrong because it's not tuned.

Add your highest octane, throw in some extra fuel pressure, make sure timing is not advanced past stock....youll be fine

11.3:1 is not an absurd amount of compression
