12.1 compression ok to run 91 octane
my friend has a built b16a2 block stroked to 1.9l and 12.1 compression i've been thinking about buying it because he now wants to go turbo, and i want to go all motor. i just want to know if running 91 octane would be ok for daily driving with 12.1 compression?

Depends on the climate you live in and the tuning that you do with the motor. If it is tuned properly, then yes, you should be ok. If you live in a super hot climate, you may have to do some kind of octane boost or something.

If you pull back the timing, and put some octane boost in every tank, you should be ok. Maybe try a thicker headgasket, to get around 11.5:1. Tuning is key, if you get it tuned properly, you will have no problems.
