Default troubleshooting: friend's car dies after a battery draw

my friend's car sucks battery like a virgin wanting for more, lols.

it's constantly drawing out 2.4 amps(as it was read on a meter). he says, it starts fine on hot days, but stalls on cold days. he's taken out every electrical accessory he has used. from his indiglo gauge, car alarm, generic subwoofer & autometer tach. when you're car is sitting, there should be only as much as 0.5 amp draw or not even. so can any tech head help these amateurs out? appreciate it guys.

If you're going to do it yourself you MUST have the Helms Electrical Manual for your car. Then start going down the electrical "tree" until you isolate the problem. Once you have the schematics it relatively easy, basically unplugging certain connectors to see if/when the current drops.

If you want to blindly try things, start unplugging stuff one at a time until the current drops.

Did you check to see if the alternator is working correctly??.. I'm not sure if this will help but here goes. Place the car infront of a wall or garage.. Turn on the headlights and open and or close your power windows (or something else that will draw power from the batter). As the window is going up or down, did you notice the headlights dimming?? If so, after you released the switch, did the headlights brighten back up? If they did, your alternator is working correctly.. If not, you've got a bad alternator.. I know it's kinda ghetto, but whatever works I guess.. Good luck!
