Default transmission wont shift

im not sure how to repost but im having the same problem as this guy https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=233492 can someone explain what is happening, i don't understand how i can shift through the gears with the car off and not when its running. my clutch works fine, i can ease it into whatever gear the cars in when i start but can't shift from there, if i shut the car off, i can start it in whatever gear i want and it works fine. a guy on this other post said pressure plate but i'd like to know why
thanks in advance

Same thing happened to me in a beater Civic I had. I could put it in what ever gear I wanted, but when I would start the car I couldn't move the shifter any more. I dropped the tranny and one of the flywheel bolts had backed its way out and wasn't letting the pressure plate do its job correctly.

You should check your clutch and tranny fluids first it could be something small like that. If not then I would suspect something to do to witht he pressure plate.

Thanks, J

yes! it could be ur pressure plate or u'r clutch linkage
ok KOEO (Key On Engine On) u'r input shaft is spinning with u'r clutch assembly.
so whenever u press on u'r clutch pedal u'r clutch release fork and throwout bearing will engage and put pressure on the diaphragm spring and then u'r input shaft will slowly spin so u can go in gear.if u'r car is off nothing is spin
or engage. check u'r clutch linkage if u'r car is hydro check u'r fluid and adjust the cable if u'r car cable clutch.
