i was driving dwn the road today and i was going to downshift but as i pushed my clutch i found that it wasn't going anywhere. it was like it was stuck (for a second i thought i was on the brake instead). then after a few tries, the clutch goes in and i pull it out of 5th gear and try to get into fourth and it wouldn't go. (this is when i started shitting my pants. if any of you live in dallas, i was on the 635/75 intersection stuck in neutral at 5:15!) then somehow it soes into fourth but its grinding real bad so i took it out again and had to coast to a stop in the middle of rush-hour on a 1 lane onramp. does anyone know what the **** happened to my car. when it's not running i can put it into all the gears and push in the clutch but when i start it i can't go anywhere. i just want to know a little something before the mechanic tells me what he thinks. tia

 

Your pressure plate is the suspect.

 

could this be from abuse or just a shitty clutch. the sport clutch came with the car when i bought it so i don't know who made it.

 

Could possibly over looking the most simple thing. check the tranny fluid and clutch fluid.

 

the exact same thing just happend to me earlier this month.

I was leaving my friends apt (trying to leave) but it wouldnt go into gear. I also thought i was pressing the brake, but a loud 'motherf***er' was quickly followed after i realized it WAS the clutch.

so what ended up happening with your teg? All this happend to me the day before i went out of town so my cars just been chillin since july 4th.

can anyone suggest any good shops around the dallas area?
