transmission problem...car won't move!
The car doesn't move in any gear it is put in. In fact, when its in park, the car rolls. The parking paw doesn't catch. When I place the tranny in any of the forward gears, I can hear a noice like something is rotating and maybe even grinding, but the car doesn't move. This auto transmission is a used one that was installed 6 months ago. What could be wrong?
What transmission is this, a 4T80E? Please be more detailed and precise. Does it move in reverse?
Might want to make sure your axles are in all the way.

Its a 93 Civic Sedan transmission. The car doesn't move in any gear. Not moving in any gears is one thing but the car doesn't sit still in park....like the parking paw is broken or something. Sounds like catastrophic internal tranny damage.
Or a busted/disconnected axle, could also be a broken diff. There are pinions/side gears in a differential, break an axle, and the pinion on the broken side will rotate forward, and will allow the other wheel to move backwards without turning the differential housing, even if its in park, or in gear.
When you place the car in park you should hear a faint click, thats the park paw engaging.
Or are you saying internal damage because you neutral bombed it?

No, I was only saying internal damage because of all the grinding I hear when its in gear. I'll check for a broken axle in the morning.

If it worked for 6 months, i highly doubt it. If it was installed off center, it would shoot ATF everywhere, and possibly shatter the drive plate.
Since its rolling in park I would say you have either a busted driveshaft, or busted pinions/side gears.
