Default Tranny Problems, Experts wanted

ok straight to the point.

shifting to 2nd and 4th is a shorter throw than before a longblock swap.
reverse a little bit different.

1st, 3rd, and 5th feels normal to me.

Could this be that the shift linkage is bent. Let me know. Thanks.

if the linkage is not bendt, check the rod that comes out of the tranny case. if it's bend't, the gears won't stay in place!

change the shifter and see if that helps, one time i installed a shifter backwards. i never took the car on the road to see if it would still work, let me know if changing the shifter has any effect on 2/4 gears!
