Tranny issues
Ok I just wanted to have an idea of how many people are having slight grinding under quick high RPM shifts? My tranny seems to crunch slightly on the 1-2 shift only when shifted quickly and at high RPM's. Anyone else have similar problems? Could it be from a worn out clutch? Or is it definately the synchro? And if it is a synchro, would it affect 1/4 mile times? BTW I have a B16A2 engine/tranny.
I've recenty changed with Honda MTF but it didn't make too much of a difference. If it is a synchro though will it affect 1/4 mile times or performance at all?
happens in my GSR tranny on the 2-3 shift. only when shifting at high RPMs fast tho. i have 10W-30 motor oil in it. i've seen this really thick stiff from lucas racing that supposedly makes the oil cling to the gears. they had a little demonstration and it was pretty impressive. wonder how well it would hold up at higher RPMs tho.

Try some Honda MTF and your grind will go away almost guaranteed. 10w-30 is designed for motors, not transmissions, which Honda MTF is designed for

Actually, Honda used 10-w-30 before they released the MTF, which is basically 10-w-30 with some other ****.
