I have a 96 LS tranny with a quaiffe LSD, it seems like something went wrong during installation. the speedo gear that turns the gear on the VSS is not sticking out far enough to turn the VSS gear. how is even this possible? here is a visual aide

Number 6 isnt reaching out far enough to turn the VSS. the Diff fits in a groove so how is this pussible?

there must be something wrong with your vss then......it only fits in one way and there is no possible way the speedo gear is not sticking out far enough from the diff.

try another vss.....make sure it goes in straight..

I have tried many, its NOT the VSS, when I look at my friends b16 tranny i see the gear clearly, when I look into my d16 sohc tranny I see it clearly, but my LS tranny U can BARELY see it, it doesnt stick out far enough to touch the VSS, I know this doesnt make sense to u, doesnt to me either but for whatever reason its not sticking all the way out.

thats really odd.......you sure they put the proper speedo gear on the diff?

i dont know what else to say......pull the tranny apart again....maybe they somehow put a wrong speedo gear in the tranny?

I was there during the whole process. its the original speedo gear that went back in but for some reason with the quaife it doesnt stick out far enough.
