Default Timing belt rubbing issue!!

Currently my timing belt is having a rubbing issue and I can't seem to figure out why. It's a 99 si b16a2. Im thinking it could possibly be the timing belt drive gear. The one currently does not have the teeth for the crank position sensor like it should. I do have both front and rear washers on the current drive belt gear.

Is there a size difference between the b16a2 drive gear and a typical "say" Ls drive gear.
Has anyone else come across this problem as well?? If so how was it corrected?

Help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I tightened the belt to specs via torque wrench. I repositioned the belt to the center of the cam, crank, water pump, and tensioner...started the car and the belt crept to the edge again. I think it may be rubbing on the washer on the drive gear ( side near crank pulley)

I bought the timing belt directly from the local Honda dealership for a 99 si.
It doesn't make any noise when running but when I removed the valve cover to adjust the valves I noticed the edge of the belt was frayed.

sounds like you may have the wrong washer behind your crank gear so it sits a bit closer to the plastic timing cover. this will force the belt to "creep" to the edge...

also its possible that your plastic timing cover is warped and rubbing the belt somewhere..

does the belt tensioner or water pump have any slop?

also, check the outer most washer that you would install before the plastic cover...make sure its not bent or damaged - that could be chewing your belt

looks like the washer that goes on the outside of the gear may be on reverse or not there at all.
