Default tie rod boot install

I was just wondering what's the process of installing the boot. I have never done this before but seems straight foreward but I want to make sure I do this correctly. First, I need special grease for it correct? I want to know how you did it and how much grease to put in. I would really appreciate any responses, thanks!

Remove the retaining ring, remove the old boot, pack the new one with grease, reinstall...

I used an "all purpose" grease that was at my friends shop. Just pack it to the top and squeez some out if it's too much...

It's not stupid.

I had to replace both my lower balljoint and tie rod boots after i did my swap. Now that's stupid.

Damn ball joint forks...

Well you can cut it if nothing else works. That's if you need to replace it anyway. But it should have a clamp at one end, just take it off and undo the nut at the other end and the boot slides right off.
