taking pin out of shift linkage??

Default taking pin out of shift linkage??

I am under the car hammering anything on that pin i can get at it, and its not budging. how do i get that pin out of the shift linkage? its on a b18b1 swapped eg

they have a special punch for spring pins, i've never used but maybe that would help. I always use a small sledge hammer and plenty of swing room. Tryheating it up...

a punch works best, many times you just need to hit it for a while. Once it starts to move its a sinch.

if you in quick bind yuo can always use the long bolt on the starter just remove the long skinny one on the starter and use that it works every time in bind if you cant get ahold of the tool

yeah i just unbolted the linkage from under the shifter and took the motor out

I've puched it out with an allen wrench before, you just got to find the right size.

find a punch, bolt or something the same size as the pin and start pounding away with a 3lb mini sledge hammer..

Just pull that part of the linkage with the engine. Don't bother wasting time hammering under the car.

Otherwise goes to sears and pick up an 8mm "bitch-pin" punch.

i just used a bolt that i grinded down to fit in the hold then a little step to seat on the edge of the pin and it works great every time, i used it to get out like 6 pins and is a sinch everytime

One or two squeeeezzzes on the trigger usually work for us !! Some of them can be really stuburn and you have to be patient, make sure you dont get angry and beat on it super hard !!
