Default Tach problem

i have a 01 ls turbo and i switched to a obd1 ecu and now the tach cuts at 5k then cuts back on when i go below 5k. Is it possible that the ecu is the problem or is the obd2 dizzy not working with the ob1 ecu.

Got wiring drawings for both years (your car vs. donor ECU)?

In the Accords, the tachometer signal comes from the ignitor up until about '98. On my '98 Accord the tachometer signal comes from the ECU.

Maybe Honda makes a similar change across the board at about that same time? If so, your car is expecting the tachometer signal to come from the ECU, but the OBD-1 ECU isn't producing a tach signal.
