yeah, the technician is right, syn. oil lube so well, that is not recommend for new engine, you will experience leaky gasket because the rings and seal is not properly break in and seal.
i wouldnt even change oil until 5000 on a new car/engine.

they dont recommend using syn. during break in, cause syntethic oil forms a coating on the metal making it more ''slippery''.
thats why rings dont seal good if you use syn. oil during break in...

one of the reason why syn. oil is better is because they love to "stick" to the metal to make a "cushion" of oil, in this case that's not what you what for your new motor.
that's pretty much it

say what you guys want, but syn oil is really not any better than dino if you change your oil on the regular.
syn oils main advantage is that it can last longer than dino. but if you want to keep oil in your engine for more than 3k be my guest.
do a search, there is thread going for twenty some pages all about syn vs dino. its long but very informative.
i have since switched back to good ol castrol gtx from mobil1. i used to burn about a quart or so over a 3k mile oil change. now using dino and still driving just as agressive(autox mainly) i dont burn any at all. just change your oil around 2500-3k and ALWAYS change your filter at the same time.

I think you sould change your oil like every 100 mile during breakin period using regular oil, to help clean out any loose metal/dirt/etc and then after break in mobil1<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by mmuller »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">
