I was removing the old alarm (which was constantly draining the system, even though it didnt work properly) and I decided to clean up all the wiring. So under the dash was a white wire (looks about 10 gauge) and it had a small wire attached to it and the other end of the small wire was attached to the wiring harness on the back of the cd player.

Now I only use this wiring harness because my cd player does not have any other way to attach the remote wire from the amps. But the wire mentioned is not part of the remote wire, there are 2 wires connected to the harness, the remote wire, and the aforementioned small mystery wire, here are some pics, see the white wire in the top left corner? And on the harness there are the 2 wires, 1 (the blue one) is the remote wire, the other (yellow) is the mystery wire...

Do I need it? What does it do?
