Buy a high flow cat and be nice to the environment.

Straight pipes are nice for top end power, but as for low end torque, they do nothing. Plus they make the exhaust loud as F*k, and it stinks good.

If you're at the track, I highly recommend it, but otherwise, get yourself a good highflow cat, and call it a day.

Side note - I have a built GSR engine in my EJ1, pushing about 190WHP NA, and about 270WHP NOS'd, I'm using a Random tech 3" universal cat. Works perfectly, flows nicely, and I've had no problems in the last 18 months I've owned it.

Bad idea. Unless you put a pipe inside the cat, you will hurt flow.
