3" Exhaust and Test Pipe ?
I am currently running a 2.5" DP to a 2.5" exhaust with no cat or test pipe.
I want to run a 3" DP to a full 3" exhuast w/o adding a cat so i was told by the people that im buying the exhaust from that it needs to be hooked up to a cat or test pipe. My problem is that i cannot find a 3" test pipe and i would rather not add a cat. Is there a bypass for this problem or do i need one custom made?
I know this is probably a stupid question but i wuld really appreciate the insight.

If i were you seeing how your sig says 98 sleeper I would go get a stock exhaust system put on the car then buy a 3inch down pipe then add electric cut out on the end of the down pipe. You get best of both worlds. The car looks and sounds stock the. With a flip of a switch you háve open Down pipe with no restriction.
Just my 02 cents

This is what I did on my prelude and it is great. Nice and quiet for daily driving and easy to go into performance mode at the drag strip. I have been using a quick time performance e-cutout for about 3 years now without any problems.

the electronic cutout is a good idea i would have to look into that but even going that route wouldnt the top end suffer from an open DP?
Also, theres no readily available test pipe for 3" exhaust?

Well if your boosting don't worry about lack of low end. Your turbo will cause enough back pressure for the engine.
And I would just connect the dp stight to the stock exhaust

yea boosting.... i took a look at the pics and it doesnt look like a problem to run the DP to the exhaust w/o the cat i was just going by what the company told me
i found from spoolin a DP that has an e cutout mod.. what else would i need to have this to work?
would just running an open DP all the time be ridiculously loud?

Re: 3" Exhaust and Test Pipe ?
People do it and it ain't as loud as open header with out a turbo. But I drive my car on long distances and I hate the loudness of any loud exhaust or dp. I am running the apexi ws2 with 3inch dp w/ electic cutout from badlandz. And it seals great I think.
The turbo Muffles some of the sound a lil. It ain't raspy to bad. Make sure you tune the car for open dp though. The turbo will love it.

Re: 3" Exhaust and Test Pipe ?
i would just buy a 3" stainless steel pipe the same length of the cat and weld on the flanges for the downpipe and exhaust or you could cut the flange from the exhaust and extend the pipe all the way to your downpipe so all you need is the extra pipe and 1 flange.

Re: 3" Exhaust and Test Pipe ?
easiest thing is to buy 2 feet of piping and the hardware, install it when needed; if you cant then get it custom made, let me know if we can help with either option. if you have more questions you can email me also
