Default spuddering problem... help!!!!

i own a 96 gsr and i just experienced a spudeeing problem today. i was wondering if anyone can help me out in resolving this problem. the sound that it is making is that it sounds like the subaru's flat motor. i think it just sounds like crap. no offense to any subby owners XP anyways... i was coming home from work today and at a red light all of a sudden it just started to spudder. when I got home I check the oil, the spark plugs and the timing belt. everything looked fine. Oil levels at the right level the spark plugs at still looking good and the timing belt looks new also. my friend did that old school thing by plugging up the dianostic port and reading out the problems by the flashing check engine light and and it was a 71 which is misfiring. and is misfiring in the 3 rd cylinder. it is also throwing alot of other codes that i will not mention. just because they are simple things that I can just replcae like the idel control valve, speed sensor and O2. I was wondering how and what should i do ??? i am seriously lost and streeing since this is my daily driver. Well i mean I know I am going to take it in to my friends shop to get it looked at but I was wondering how can I rebuild this motor all N/A to where I can get it running properly. I mean I know I have to change my piston rings because i think they might be gone due to the fact that it is eatting oil pretty bad. Is there any pasrts that you guys would recommend me to get for rebuilding my motor. Parts that are good and reliable. something thatcan be thrown in to make power and so that I can still pump 91 octane and not go into 100+ for a daily driver. if anyone that has any good ideas please reply.=D all help from any fellow Honda owners will be really much appreciated.
