Default Speedometer does not work

Ok i've got a 00' DX, I put a 99 EX motor in it because the old one blew out. With the swap I had to swap ECUs and now my speedometer/tripometer/odometer. I used the same tranny so I would think the speed sensor would still be good. What needs to be checked and how can I check it. The 99 i pulled the motor from was wrecked and my SRS light is on....I dont know how this could cause a problem but if it helps let me know. Also I have an extra plug on my harness next to the ECU but the ECU/Harness are from the same car and thats how it was hooked up before.

is the speed sensor plugged in, if you jack the car up in the air and drive it does the sensor make voltage?

speed sensor is plugged in, I will have to check on the voltage.......should it create voltage on its own....or will I have to leave it plugged in and splice wires to check?
