Default ..... sohc TDC .....

I have my crank & camshaft TDC. my spark plug wires are in 1-3-4-2. the distrib is off. now when i put my distrib on it is not lining up with no. 1 spark plug..... any suggestions...

suggestion: your timing is wrong. double check. do you have a manual?

Which dist are you using? Use the one that matches the engine. Make sure you're using the right marks to align TDC. Mike

the crank and cam are TDC. the distrib is off timing i know that but how do ifix it..

Right got that. Are you using the b18 dist or the Dx dist? If you have the wrong one it might not line up. Make sure the rotor inside the dist is lined up with post for #1 cylinder. You could just have that off. Mike

this is on my 7y/y8 setup its all d series parts its the same distrib that cam with the y8 head....

Unbolt the three bolts on the distributor and adjust the dizzy by moving it back or foward untill your within specs.

The rotor will be about 16 degrees off.

Just wondering... is the distributor supposed to line up according to TDC or BTDC (the single mark or the 3 line marks on the crankshaft pulley)?

my crank is lined up with the the line on the crank gear and the arrow on the block, my camshaft is UP TDC. and its putting my dizzy off
