Cam/Distributor Timing

When I put my motor to TDC, the rotor faces plug wrie 3 on the cap. What did I do wrong? How do I make it face plug wire 1 on the distributor cap?

The cam gear and crank are both lined up to TDC.

Soumds like your 180 degrees off the crank turns twice for every revolution of the cam. turn it over 1 time and it should line up.
