To the original poster, why are you even posting. Is this a surprise? You know the rules, you played the game, and you got caught. Be a big boy and put it back to stock.

And as for "Honestly, i couldnt give less of a **** what comes out of my tail pipe. I hate this stupid state."

Move. Far away. Of course no one would want to live near you.

Come to think of it, you're why we have smog rules. All it takes is a few bad apples. Congratulations, and take a bow.

Well, I would at least add an underbody cat just to lower emissions. Speaking of emissions, I think that testing emissions is actually a good idea. With more and more cars on the road, we all have to do what we can to keep the air clean. But I am very much against California's approach to clean air. Specifically, I think that the best smog test would be one in which a very comprehensive tailpipe test is performed but NO VISUAL INSPECTION. After all, who cares what is under the hood as long as the car runs clean? All this 'CARB approved stuff only' and 'NO JDM in California' crap is nothing more than government power gone awry.

You might also be surprised to know that 'hippies' and the environmental movement are actually the reason for the whole import thing. If it was not for them, all cars would still be big. And even if small cars were made for the thrifty folks out there, they would be underpowered piles of crap with antiquated pushrod, carbureted engines that might put out 60HP on a good day (although it is actually OHC, think of a 1978 Datsun B210 and you have a good idea what I am talking about). Forget about multiport fuel injection, dual overhead cams, four valves per cylinder, and (heaven forbid!) VTEC. Although all of these things improve performance, their original intent was to reduce emissions and improve fuel economy.

I've been in your position, so don't trip.

I'm not flaming, but you're acting like a child.

Glad to hear you're seeing the light. Stock = less **** with, enjoy it.

in all honesty, thats what im saying. it just came out like i dont care whats coming out of my tail pipe. if i could do whatever i wanted to my engine as long as it passed the sniffer test i would be fine with smog laws. but they have to go through a stupid visual check, which is worthless.

you should move to Indiana dude, here's why
1 no smog tests
2 no front tag
3 cops won't pull you unless your doing some real stupid ****
4 country rednecks driving camaros are easy prey
5 you'd have the fastest honda in the whole damn state

yes, california has lots of idiotic laws, enforced by overzealous cops, but think about this: wouldnt it be great if the cops stopped you and every detail of your car was 100% legit? you'd have the last laugh then, and they would have one less reason to pull over every honda they see.
just my opinion....

one question however: outside of the hood will be 100% legit, under the hood wont. If there is no reason for the cop to pull me over for, but he pulls me over anyway, does he have permission to pop my hood? i.e. thinks im too low when i am in fact right on the legal limit (22")

Yeah they can do that. They look for CARB stickers on your intake and header. That is probably only in cities where there are lots of street races and the cops have been trained though.
